| As
agreed at the HEC5 meeting in Goslar, this year's meeting will take place
in the town of Wittenberg,
famous as the place where Martin
Luther rebelled against the prevailing practices of the church, in
particular the selling of indulgences. By nailing his 95 theses to the
Castle Church door in 1517, he sparked off the Reformation, leading to
the establishment of the Protestant Church in Europe.
The meeting will be held in the historic Leucorea (birthplace in 1502 of the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg), located in the centre of the town. The meeting fee will cover accommodation in single or double rooms and full board. 50 single rooms are available within the Leucorea on a "first come, first served" basis. The schedule for the three days of meeting includes an invited lecture held by the crystallisation expert Terese Bergfors, Uppsala University, four sessions of scientific presentations, one short session held by our sponsors, as well as a free afternoon. We
are now asking all groups that signaled their intent to come to register
directly.
